I’ve lived in Florida for 7 years now. When we first moved here it was affordable. We planned on buying a house or at least renting a 3 bedroom home.
Well we were about to do it. Then the pandemic happened. After that Florida has had more and more people moving here each year. Ever since then prices kept going up and up.
Yes we should have gotten a house sooner, but at the time we were working on our credit. It was getting better. Then a lot of other financial factors prevented us from getting into a new place.
I was supposed to be in a higher position in 2020 that would have helped get us into a new home, like many of my friends at work. Then that fell through due to rumors and management.
Besides all of that. I really wanted to move my family into a bigger place. My kids deserve thier own room.
The thing that I’m worried about now is how expensive Florida has gotten. Also the fact the wages out here can’t keep up with how fast cost of living has gone up. So what worries me is how much longer I can afford living out here.
I know it’s not just us in Florida and this is an issue across the nation. All I know is we all need to figure out how we can come together and make life better for every person.
How can we do that?
Some way we can help is by starting a universal income for the United States. That way everyone can afford the basic needs no matter what.
We also need to make housing affordable for everyone. No human should worry where they’re going to sleep or eat. We also should make it to were everyone has insurance.
The healthier our society is the more our communities can flourish. The more the community flourish the better our economy will be.
The way society is right now. Everyone is just working to die. What is the point in that. We should all be able to enjoy life.
